On a global scale, Canada consistently ranks around the average of developed countries when it comes to Childcare and Early Childhood Education (ECE). Compared to many other countries, Canada is lacking in terms of progressive policies and benefits for parents and children. In this section, we will discuss Canada’s policies from a global context, looking at both Childcare and ECE, as well as adoption, foster care, parental leave, and the main government-funded subsidies and benefits.
Additionally, we will highlight some of the outcomes observed while comparing results from the 41 wealthiest countries. We will then explore what these nations did to achieve their standards and best practices.
